Egypt continues to be a very popular place to enjoy a holiday. After all it is the home of two of the seven ancient wonders of the world in The Great Pyramid of Giza (the only one of the seven still in existence) and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. There is no doubt about it; Egypt is a sightseer’s paradise, with many attractions to visit and enjoy. The mighty Nile River is found here, the unique city of Cairo, Luxor, and the Valley of the Kings & Queens, as well as the breathtaking pyramids. In recent years another side of Egypt has opened up with luxury all inclusive holidays to Red Sea resorts like Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada.

So, whether you are looking for escorted tours to Egypt, Nile River cruises or just looking to soak up the sun on a sandy beach, then this country really offers a little bit of everything.

Nile River Cruises – If you want to be able to enjoy large swathes of this fabulous country, taking in as many sights and historical landmarks as possible, then perhaps a cruise on the river Nile will suit you perfectly. The Nile is the longest river in the world and as it passes through 10 different countries (including Egypt, Sudan, Rwanda, Kenya and Ethiopia) it stretches more than 4000 miles, with around a thousand of those within Egypt itself.

The sights and places you visit on a Nile cruise or an escorted tour to Egypt will of course vary depending on the length of your itinerary but some of the beautiful places you might visit are as follows:

The Pyramids of Giza – Although there is much more to see in Egypt, no trip to the country would really be complete without seeing the Pyramids, one of the most well known sights in the world. The main Great Pyramid of Giza is thought to date back as far as 2560 BC and probably took between 10 and 20 years to build. Once you have seen the pyramids, they will remain with you forever!

Cairo – The capital of Egypt, Cairo, is also the biggest city in the whole of Africa and to see it all properly you would need more than a few excursions. However, wandering through some of the bustling streets and visiting some of the museums and famous landmarks will certainly give you a good taste of this exciting city.

Aswan – Another city well worth exploring is Aswan. Further south than Cairo, there is plenty to see and do here. The Temple of Philae, Nubian Museum, Kitchner’s Island, the Botanical garden and the unfinished Obelisk are just some of the highlights of this particular area.

Luxor – One of the most famous cities and tourist destinations in Egypt is Luxor. Too many highlights to list all of them but the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Karnak, Luxor Temple, Avenue of Sphinxes and Valley of the Artisans are just some of the places that should certainly be on your list.

So, Egypt is full of wonder and magic and makes a great place for an adventure holiday or one of relaxation. Please feel free to contact us for much more information about any of our escorted tours to Egypt.
