Itinerary
Day 1 London - Calgary - Banff
We begin with the Titan's VIP Home Departure Service® to London Heathrow Airport and your scheduled Air Canada flight direct or indirect to Calgary. On arrival, our coach transports you to Banff, set in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Our hotel for the next three nights is the Banff Caribou Lodge.
Day 2 Banff - Lake Louise - Banff
This morning we discover the beauty of Banff and Yoho National Parks boasting rugged beauty, unspoiled landscapes, and pristine mountain ranges. We visit some of Alberta’s most famous lakes (weather permitting) including Lake Louise, named in honour of Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, fourth daughter of Queen Victoria. All seasons offer a different experience; in winter views across the frozen lake are breathtaking and in the summer the turquoise waters sparkle underneath the towering Victoria Glacier. Visit the historic Chateau Lake Louise, a luxury hotel dating back as far as 1911 and in the summer time, reach the mountain peaks by the Lake Louise gondola. This evening we are free to enjoy the town’s nightlife, which includes a good selection of restaurants.
Day 3 Banff
Today we are at leisure in one of the loveliest small towns in North America. Protected as a National Park, Banff has been saved from any large scale development and has retained much of its charm, remaining fairly compact and easily discovered on foot. With Cascade Mountain at one end leading to the town’s main street, Banff Avenue, which has a number of small gift shops, some selling local craftwork, several boutiques, a selection of cafes, bars and the Rose and Crown pub. There is an extensive range of different activities available throughout the seasons.
Day 4 Banff - Jasper
Today we take the Icefields Parkway from Banff National Park to Jasper National Park. This stunningly scenic road links these two great parks, and for over 160 miles takes us through jagged mountain peaks and high forested valleys with many opportunities to view some of the countries wildlife. The half waypoint is the spectacular Columbia Icefield, one of the biggest accumulations of ice and snow south of the Arctic Circle. In the summer months you will experience a ride by Ice Explorer on the Athabasca Glacier (does not operate during the winter season). Our hotel for the next two nights is the Lobstick Lodge.
Day 5 Jasper
Jasper’s setting is idyllic, surrounded by lakes and mountains and in winter the area is resplendent in a coat of snow and ice. Today we explore the sights of Jasper National Park visiting some of the surrounding lakes including Maligne Lake and Medicine Lake (season dependant). During the winter you will have the opportunity to join an optional guided walking tour of Maligne Canyon. From the walls of the canyon great swathes of icicles, some well over 10ft long, hang beside waterfalls which, like white marble pillars, stand frozen solid until the spring thaw. In summer take an optional cruise on Maligne Lake to Spirit Island and learn of the local history, geology and wildlife. This evening you may choose to dine at your hotel or sample one of the town’s restaurants.
Day 6 Jasper - Sun Peaks
We begin a spectacular drive passing by Mount Robson, at 12,972 ft the summit of Mount Robson is the highest point in the Canadian Rockies. Sun Peaks is nestled in the mountains and the bustling resort atmosphere can be enjoyed all year round. Our hotel for the night is the superb Coast Sundance Lodge.
Day 7 Sun Peaks - Vancouver
This morning we continue west, enjoying the ever-changing scenery. In the afternoon, we arrive in the beautiful city of Vancouver and our hotel for the next 3 nights, the Coast Coal Harbour. One of the world’s most sophisticated cities, Vancouver has the advantage of one of the most spectacular settings in the world, in the foreground the encircling Pacific Ocean and as a backdrop, the grandeur of Grouse Mountain.
Day 8 Vancouver
This morning you will get acquainted with the many attractions of Vancouver on an included morning sightseeing tour. In the afternoon, take the optional excursion to Grouse Mountain and Capilano Suspension Bridge, the world’s longest and highest suspended footbridge.
Day 9 Vancouver
Today is free to enjoy and explore Vancouver at your leisure. For natural beauty there is the 1,000-acre Stanley Park, Vancouver’s green heart, a wilderness area of forest, marshland and beaches, and is surrounded on three sides by the ocean. For excitement and variety Vancouver’s Chinatown, centred on Pender Street, is worth exploring. Shops, hotels, markets and restaurants along with incessant activity combine to create a vibrant atmosphere. Alternatively take an optional excursion to Vancouver Island and visit Victoria, British Columbia’s provincial capital. The two-hour ferry journey from the mainland to the Island takes you through some of the most attractive and unspoilt coastal landscapes you are likely to see on the west coast of North America. Victoria itself lays claim to being one of Canada’s most beautiful cities and probably its’ most British, with a distinct grace and charm and is home to the ever popular Butchart Gardens.
