2 Exciting new European beach resorts – perfect for a family holiday
What are you looking for when you book a European family beach holiday? For some, it’s the beach that’s the most important feature of their surroundings. They are looking for clean, golden sand, clear, warm, turquoise waters and amenities close by so they can grab a snack after they’ve just finished a rewarding, but challenging, sailing or windsurfing lesson. They also find it handy if they can grab a drink and a bit of shade when the sun gets too hot.
For others, the area in which they are based is a priority. They want to be able to hike or cycle through nearby picturesque landscapes in order to experience incredible views from otherwise inaccessible view points; survey the sparkling bay from a mountain trail and even take planned excursions out to fascinating attractions in nearby towns and villages. Archaeological sites, restaurants which serve the best local cuisine, museums, art galleries and even bustling shopping malls all hold a lot of appeal.
Through dealing with a variety of customers with different travel needs and preferences on a daily basis for many years, one holiday priority which is cited time and time again is the overall quality and depth of the all-inclusive package that you get with a particular result.
This is why we are excited to announce two brand-new European family Beach resorts from travel operators who are experts in their field; Neilson and Mark Warner. With years of experience in delivering exactly what the customers want, and then fine-tuning their offerings with a view to exceeding customer expectations, we are fully certain you’re going to love these new resorts.
The resorts are Mark Warner’s Phokaia Beach Resort in Turkey and Neilson’s Airone Beach Club in Calabria, Italy. Let’s have a look at the packages on offer to see just how you could be spending your next fun-filled family fortnight under the warm European sun.
Some European beach resorts are very restrictive in the age of child they’re willing to entertain while you soak up the sun, or enjoy a spa treatment. However, both of these new resorts promise entertainment and babysitting services for babies from four months old to teenagers of age 17.
In order to ensure your little (and not so little) ones can make friends of their own age and take part in games, sports, activities, discos and film screenings that are appropriate, there are several kids’ clubs on site. Your baby will be looked after by registered childminders, trained in keeping babies amused and encouraging their development.
Toddlers will be indulged in their own safe space and offered the chance to join in shared games. Older children will get the chance to learn a new sport. The sports coaching is included in your package and will provide group lessons in sailing or tennis, aimed at your children. It may possibly give them a renewed appetite for a certain sports, that will make them want to continue these activities at home. All of this is on top of the excellent games room, dedicated splash pool and guided craft activities that are also available.
Babysitting services are available in the evening and your child will be able to eat meals with new friends under the supervision of the kids’ clubs organisers should you (and they) wish. The whole resort is family friendly, with your little ones welcome in restaurants, bars and communal areas. The superb and extensive childcare facilities is something both the Phokaia Beach Resort and Airone Beach Club have in common.
Leisure activities at Phokaia and Airone
The schedule of activities you can take part in is similar at both resorts. Watersports are heavily promoted here, with you able to take classes in sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking at both. As for land-based sports, it’s possible to enjoy casual tennis games, or tennis tuition, along with both road cycling and mountain biking. In addition to these, Phokaia offers lessons in dry land waterskiing while Airone boats a state of the art climbing wall.
Both resorts revolve around their picturesque swimming pools, which are huge and very tempting on a hot day; the perfect place to cool off when you need a break from the sun. There are also extensive gyms and fitness rooms at each place.
As for indulging in some pampering and me time, the full equipped spa centre at each resort offers an exciting menu of treatments to buff you up, get rid of dry or ageing skin and generally help you become the best version of yourself, in a very relaxing and enjoyable manner.
The Phokaia Beach Resort is on the west coast of Turkey, just across the water from Greece. It is set in mature, manicured gardens and looks out across Foça Bay. In this opulent stretch of water, decadent yachts sail in and out of the harbour. You can marvel at them from the array of seafront bars and restaurants. In the background there are majestic peaks which you can explore on foot or bike.
As this region is considered an area of natural beauty and is environmentally protected, you’ll find all manner of exotic flora and fauna in and around the bays and coves, as well as in the green spaces. As for the cuisine of the region, you’ll enjoy barbecue meat, fragrant rices and fresh salads, as well as internationally inspired foods.
Neilson’s Airone Beach Club is situated in Calabria; the toe of boot-shaped Italy. In this mountainous region, you’ll find sandy beaches fringed by clear waters and rugged cliffs. There are mediaeval castles to discover, archaeological settlements, art galleries and acres of impressive natural terrain to explore. You’ll taste exquisite pizzas and pastas, with many dishes being infused by chilies; a popular flavour in this part of Italy.
