Itinerary

Day 1: Melbourne

On arrival in Melbourne, you will be met andtransferred to the Crowne Plaza for 3 nights. In theevening there will be a welcome dinner on boardthe Colonial Tramcar Restaurant. (D)

Day 2: Melbourne

Morning walking tour taking in Melbourne™s eclecticlittle alleyways, arcades and cafe society. Afternoonat leisure. (B)

Day 3: Melbourne

Day at leisure in Melbourne. Optional excursions toYarra Valley, Mornington peninsula, Phillip Island orthe Great Ocean Road can be booked locally. (B)

Day 4: Fly to Alice Springs

Morning flight to the outback town of Alice Springs. Visit the School of the Air, aneducational facility for remote families of theoutback; the Royal Flying Doctors Service;and historic Telegraph Station. Stay overnightat the Mercure Alice Springs Resort.Barbecue dinner at the Earth Sanctuary NatureCentre. (B, D)

Day 5: Uluru

Morning drive to Uluru via the MacDonnelland James ranges. En route, view the majesticAttila, a distinctive mountain which, inpioneering times, was often mistaken forUluru. Stay 2 nights at Desert Gardens Hotel.Late afternoon excursion to view the strikingcolour changes of Uluru as the sun sets. (B)

Day 6: Uluru ¢ Kata Tjuta

Early morning sunrise tour of Uluru to learnabout the significance of the site to localAboriginal tribes. Afternoon visit to the KataTjuta rock formations for a walk along thecreek bed between two of the tallest domes,before watching the sun set over them with aglass of sparkling wine. (B)

Day 7: Fly to Cairns

Join a local artist for an introduction tothe indigenous art of the Western Desert.Afternoon flight to Cairns, then transfer to theHilton Cairns for 3 nights. (B)

Day 8: Cairns

Day at leisure in Cairns. Optional excursionsmay be booked locally and include a hot airballoon ride over the Atherton Tablelands or avisit to the mountain retreat of Kuranda. (B)

Day 9: Great Barrier Reef

Travel out to the world heritage-listedGreat Barrier Reef on board a catamaranto a pontoon situated on the reef. Duringthe day, there will be opportunities to gosnorkelling and also view the reef from a semisubmersible.(B, L, D)

Day 10: Cairns ¢ Fly to Sydney

Morning visit to the Cairns Wildlife Dome toview native wildlife. Afternoon flight to Sydney.On arrival, transfer to the InterContinentalSydney for 3 nights. (B)

Day 11: Sydney

Morning tour of Sydney, including visits tothe Sydney Opera House, Sydney™s EasternSuburbs and Bondi Beach. Return to the cityfor a cruise with lunch in Sydney harbour.Remainder of the afternoon at leisure. (B, L)

Day 12: Sydney

Day at leisure in Sydney. Optional excursionsmay be booked locally and include visits to the Blue Mountains or Hunter Valley. Eveningfarewell dinner. (B, D)

Day 13: Onward travel
