Itinerary

Toronto

Days 1-2

London to Toronto

We board our flight from London to Toronto, beginning our vividGrand Tour of Canada and New England. We check into our hotel andhave free time for dinner. The following morning we exploreToronto, a multicultural melting-pot with an inviting, laid-backatmosphere. Our guided tour takes us to some of the city’s mostfamous landmarks, including the CN Tower before an afternoon toexplore at your own pace.

Niagara Falls

Day 3

Niagara Falls & The Ice Wine Vineyard

Our excursion today is to the iconic Niagara Falls, truly one ofthe natural wonders of the world. Experience the awe-inspiringpower of the cascading waterfall from the viewing area before wevisit the local ice-wine vineyard. Here at Niagara, the deliciousice-wine is produced using grapes that have frozen naturally on thevine in the freezing temperatures. The grapes are then picked andpressed before thawing to develop the unique taste. We continue toNiagara-on-the-Lake for a delicious lunch.

Montreal

Day 4

Onwards to Montreal

Today we board the train to Montreal, arriving in the afternoon.Our hotel for two-nights is the Le Saint-Sulpice. We embark on aguided tour of this charming island city, which takes in thestunning Notre-Dame de Montr©al Basilica and the bustlingBonsecours Market, which is flanked by rows of autumnal-colouredtrees.

Tremblant

Day 5

Mont Tremblant & the Sugar Shack

Today we visit the famous resort of Mont Tremblant in thefoothills of the Laurentian Mountains. With walls of redtoppedtrees ascending up the rocky mountain face, the area is visuallyspellbinding at this time of season. Take some time to explore thecharming resort town and wander under the delightful canopy ofdappled oranges and browns. Later at dinner, we enjoy a Sugar Shackexperience, trying some of Canada’s most famous foodstuff, MapleSyrup.

Quebec

Day 6

Discover Quebec City

This morning we transfer to the station for the train to Quebec.Upon arrival, we check into our hotel, before embarking on a guidedtour of this French-speaking city. Our tour takes us past some ofthe city’s most iconic landmarks, including the elegant Ch¢teauFrontenac, a stunning castle building that is now a stylish hotel.Perched on a promontory, the wonderful castle building is trulyawe-inspiring as it peaks above the vibrant carpet of orange andred treetops.

Day 7

Into the USA

After a leisurely morning spent in Quebec, we board a coach forthe journey across the border into Northern USA, arriving in theVermont town of Stowe. Our hotel for two nights is the GreenMountain Inn.

Day 8

Fall Colours of Stowe

Today is truly the highlight of this wonderful tour. Thismorning we are joined at our hotel by a renowned localphotographer, who will provide a presentation on their work andoffer a hands-on photography lesson on how to take fascinating andmemorable pictures. We then embark on a wonderful nature walkthrough Stowe and into the surrounding hillside, accompanied by alocal guide. The guide will provide us with a talk on the localflora and fauna and there will be opportunities to stop en routeand use your newfound photography skills. The walk passes under acanopy of fiery-coloured tree branches and the view from the hillacross Stowe is breathtaking.

Day 9

Route to North Conway

The morning is at leisure in Stowe, why not take another walkthrough the surrounding wilderness and enjoy the stunning colours?In the afternoon we board a coach to North Conway, a year-roundresort village on the edge of the White Mountain National Forest.We check into our hotel for a three night stay.

Day 10

Mount Washington Cog Railway

Today we enjoy a journey on board the charming Mount WashingtonCog Railway – the world’s first cog railway system. It opened in1869 and climbs an astonishing 6,228ft (1,898m) up MountWashington, the highest peak in the Eastern States. We stop at thesummit briefly to enjoy the fascinating panoramic views of thesurrounding mountain range before descending by rail to theVisitor’s Centre, where we enjoy an informative talk on the historyof the line .

Day 11

The North Conway Railroads

Today we board North Conway’s Scenic Railroad for a round tripaboard the ‘Notch Train’. The route has stood for over 132 yearsand we pass some of the finest fall scenery New England has tooffer. The experience is breathtaking at this time of year as wepass through Crawford Notch. Take time to marvel at the panoramicmountain vistas and the sea of rich oranges and browns. A livecommentary is provided on board giving an insight into the train’slong history and its importance to the local area.

Day 12

To Boston, via Salem

We leave North Conway by coach today, bound for the bustling hubof Boston. Along this scenic journey, we stop in the historic townof Salem, made famous by the infamous Salem Witch Trials, one ofthe darkest periods of America’s history. On arrival at Boston weenjoy a quick orientation tour before we check into our hotel for atwo-night stay.

Days 13-15

Exploring Boston and Home

Today we embark on a guided sightseeing tour around the heart ofBoston. Our tour takes in the ever-popular “Freedom Trail”, one ofthe most famous routes in the city that takes in the city’s mosticonic landmarks. The tour concludes in Quincy Market. TheMarketplace provides a great place to find yourself some lunch,with a wealth of wonderful produce available. Your afternoon is atleisure to explore Boston further, before we enjoy a farewelllobster (or alternative) dinner at a local restaurant.

On Day 14 there is free time to explore Bostonfurther before transferring to the airport for the flight home,arriving on Day 15. Please note that outside ofthe main fall season (mid September – mid October), the fallfoliage is unlikely to be as visible, however the attractions ofthe area are delightful at any time.
